God gave each of us exclusive gifts, Rick Warren wrote in The Purpose Driven Life, "a unique heart, exclusive capabilities, a unique personality ... a lifetime of distinctive experiences so you would make your own exclusive difference in the world." We all have particular gifts and talents, & writing is one of mine (verified by a SHAPE class at my church). Numerous men and women have encouraged my writing endeavors by means of the years -- family, pals, teachers, online acquaintances, & other writers. I am grateful for their encouragement and long to use my gift purposefully for God.
My writing adventures began at age 7, when I wrote my first book. It was the story of a field mouse that lived under a polka dot mushroom. I wrote the words in crayon on squares of brown paper bag, stitched with a needle and thread from my mother's sewing basket. I won my first essay contest in the 4th grade, and that blue ribbon event led to more writing. Ready writing & journalism competitions, school newspapers, school writing programs, a neighborhood history column (see TXGenWeb), online essay contests ... and I'm nonetheless writing. Yahoo! Contributor Network, formerly Related Content, introduced me to World wide web writing in 2006. I learned I could write about more or less anything, get paid for it, and continue to earn residual revenue. Today, I'm a contributer for Break Studios, a Thomas Nelson book reviewer, along with a ghostwriter for Textbroker & other internet customers. I'm building one of a kind report libraries on Bukisa, HubPages, & Triond. & numerous new blogs are in the works.
Each of you has been blessed with one of God's a large number of awesome gifts to be used in the service of others. So use your gift well. I'm blessed to go after writing as my ministry and profession. I'm also blessed with tremendous assistance & encouragement from my husband. With the spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences (SHAPE) God gave me, I hope to make a one of a kind distinction in the world ... or at least my corner of it!
