Overview

The first section of our journey starts us in the vast and vibrant smog filled city of Mexico City. We will see the pyramids at teotithuacan and experience the nightlife of mexico city, mexican style. There is much ground to cover on our way to palenque and we can go via the gulf coast or through the centre of the country.

Plan of action

  • See a wrestling match (Lucha libre)
  • See a free classical concert in the Auditorio National? (sundays at noon)
  • See a bullfight at the Plaza Mexico (largest Bullring in the world - 19*22'58"N, 99*10'48"W) - Maybe too cruel

Day 4-5

I haven't decided how i think we should spend these 2 days yet. There are two options.

Option 1

Go over to he gulf coast via the archaeological site of El Tajin and down the coastline, via carribean trading ports towards the yucutan.

Option 2

Go overland to Puebla and Oxaco which seem to be fairly big on colonial influences, churches and markets.

Onward connection

Arrive safely in comfort in out chosen method of transport at the hand-over point in Palenque
